Speed 3D Pumpkin Carving “Gizmo” (Video)

I think I am developing a slight addiction to 3D Pumpkin Carving! 😉

Here is my second official carving of the season: If you are as big a fan of 80’s movies as I am, then you will definitely remember this little guy from the 1984 movie Gremlins. So without further ado, I present to you, “Gizmo”:

Caution: Do not spill water on this little guy….or feed him after midnight….

The picture above was taken the next morning after the face had been carved, so it was already starting to get dried out. The picture below is of Gizmo – sans ears – and freshly carved – you can see how much more plush the pumpkin flesh was:

He could pass for a monkey here….

He took me about 6 hours to carve from start to finish, but as the old saying goes, “Time flies when you’re having fun!” As I type, out of the corner of my eye I see another pumpkin sitting in the corner of my room….and I’m already concocting a plan for him…. 😉

And more exciting news! – I also filmed this pumpkin carving process and have a time lapse video now posted on YouTube! It’s all in good fun and I hope everyone enjoys watching!  Happy Halloween!

(Looking to carve your own 3D pumpkin this year? My recommendations for 3D pumpkin carving tools coming soon! Stay tuned!……)
